A Quick Birthday Bridge Card – from Scraps!

My challenge today was staying awake and motivated. Since I’m only on day two of my self-imposed challenge, I couldn’t give up that quickly. September 2, 2020 is one of my High School Bestie’s birthday, and I almost let it slide by unrecognized. Thank goodness for FB notifications! I now have her birthday registered on my calendar so I’ll hopefully be more prepared next year.

So materials, I only know a few.

I used a Queen and Company foundation die to create the “bridge” which is the basis for the Happy Birthday sentiment, which was cut from their sparkle adhesive foam. The bling was truly all scraps. The patterned paper is from scraps I had from a paper pad called Mimosa. The Happy Birthday is a die from The Stamps of Life that came in the August 2020 Card Kit. The card base I cut from Accent Opaque Digital Smooth Cover 120lb. on my Fiskars paper trimmer, then creased it using my Martha Stewart Crafts Bone Folder.

I have to say, the bridge card adds a lot of interest to some basic scraps, and I love that it folds almost completely flat for mailing. The really heavy card stock wasn’t necessary, but it does stand up on its own quite nicely.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing what I made today, may you create something new today!

Keep Being Creative,

Janet
