Watermelon Truck Memories with Dad – A Handmade Card

I’ve decided to challenge myself in September 2020 to do at least one creative thing every day. I’m kicking off September 1, 2020 with a card to send to my dad based on a favorite memory I have with him.

One of my favorite memories as a kid with my dad was riding with him through the Columbia River Gorge up and down the Oregon and Washington sides delivering Hermiston Watermelons to independently owned markets. We’d get up so very early in the morning and drive out to the field where people would throw melons in the truck to load it up, then we’d get on the highway and at each stop I had to get out, climb on top of the pile and pitch those melons down to my dad or whoever was there to help from the market.

I’ve had the Special Delivery Shaker Card Kit from Queen & Company for a while now, but never made anything with it. When they released the Special Deliver Summer Celebrations Add-on Kit, I knew I had to have it and I finally did something with it!
